The function of Cat5 Video Baluns is to replace the traditional 75-ohm RG59 coaxial cable with Cat 5 unshielded twisted pair ( UTP ) cable in CCTV and surveillance Installations and provides a solution for high quality and long distance transmission. The TC204 is a CAT5 twisted pair video transceiver unit. It can be used as both a video transmitter, as well as a video receiver. Alternatively for longer distances, the TC204 can be used in conjunction with one of our active video receiver units. In these applications the TC204 should be used as a transmitter. This twisted pair video unit converts four composite video signals to four balanced twisted pair signals for transmission over a standard UTP CAT5 or CAT6 cable. It allows transmission of up to 4 individual composite video signals over a single CAT5 UTP cable. They can be extremely useful in CCTV applications where distances exceed standard co-ax maximum distances. The unit can also be extremely useful when four cameras are situated in the same area and the user wants to use one signal cable to bring the signals back to the DVR and/ or monitor.
