The function of Cat5 Video Baluns is to replace the traditional 75-ohm RG59 coaxial cable with Cat 5 unshielded twisted pair ( UTP ) cable in  CCTV and surveillance Installations and provides a solution for high quality and long distance transmission.

  • Passive design (no power required)
  • Output - Terminal two wire connection - Video + and Ground -
  • Using Standard Cat5 cable, patching.
  • Optional Power connector for Camera power.
  • Maximum 150m working distance (much better than coaxial cable 100m)

Cost
Cat5 UTP cable is significantly less expensive than coaxial cable. The cost per foot of UTP can be up to 70% less than that of coaxial cable.

Working Distance
Over a maximum of 150m, Cat5 UTP cable gives exceptional quality, far better than coaxial cable. Also, Cat5 UTP cable has outstanding interference rejection.

Usage
Baluns should be used in pairs with any video equipment, especially suitable for Cameras to DVR, DVR to CCTV Monitor, Cameras to Video switch and Cameras to multiplexer.
