The function of Cat5 Video Baluns is to replace the traditional 75-ohm RG59 coaxial cable with Cat 5 unshielded twisted pair ( UTP ) cable in CCTV and surveillance Installations and provides a solution for high quality and long distance transmission. Single channel active ( powered) KIT with one BNC output and screw terminal for video input. Converts video signal which has been transmitted over CAT5 cable back to coaxial so it can be connected to CCTV multiplexers, DVR's or video monitors. It has ground lifting circuit ( ground loop isolation) which makes it ideal for use on 3 phase premises. Maximum working distance up to 1,500 metres for colour. Unit is matched with a single channel passive (no power required) transmitter balun (included)

Cat5 UTP cable is significantly less expensive than coaxial cable. The cost per foot of UTP can be up to 70% less than that of coaxial cable.
Working Distance Over a maximum of 150m, Cat5 UTP cable gives exceptional quality, far better than coaxial cable. Also, Cat5 UTP cable has outstanding interference rejection.
